previous 5/10 next 7/10  Inter 6 - 0 Guadalajara (389953952)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 53833 had shown up at 7 de Noviembre for the match. Jean-Paul Mora was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Djamel Djebali and Petteri Seppälä. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Inter. The following players had been chosen: Martínez - Alférez García, Pío, Aguilar - Aguilar, Arellano, Rosales, Mauldin, Becerril - Blanco, Mojica.

Guadalajara started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Lluís - Chadwick, Barajas, Arangure - Raijas, Mccullough, Vahemets, Koivisto, Hodor - Luterán, 瑞善 (Ruishan).

Inter tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Today, Guadalajara's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 18 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from O. Aguilar, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. Cheers filled the stadium as P. Rosales broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Inter. With 28 minutes played, C. Blanco of Inter fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Inter scored another to make it 3 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for J. Alférez García after 29 minutes. With 31 minutes gone, Inter had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However, P. Rosales did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Inter had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

After 68 minutes, A. Pío put Inter ahead 4 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. The players of Inter now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. A. Mauldin had a fantastic opportunity to put Inter up another goal 76 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. The score became 5 - 0 at 82 minutes into the game, when Inter were given a penalty which A. Mauldin blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! Inter solidified their lead at the 86 minute mark, as J. Arellano dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Inter, with 65 percent of the ball.

C. Blanco performed admirably for Inter. On the other hand, J. Alférez García's play was disheartening. The most dominating Guadalajara player was without a doubt 李. 瑞善 (Ruishan). However, J. Koivisto made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 0.
