At the beginning of the game, Club appeared to have already taken this victory to the bank.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 13 minutes into the match left Club's
R. Barrón completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
After 22 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
R. Barrón who increased Club's lead to 0 - 2.
31 minutes in, Club's
C. Martinez received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
C. Martinez received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 32 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 3. The Club fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Club lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
Club increased their lead after 34 minutes when
C. Martinez broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay.
Halftime score was 0 - 4.
Club had most of the ball, with 77 percent of possession.
The visitors'
M. Suárez took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 47 minutes into the match. 0 - 5 for Club.
After 57 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
M. Suárez a chance to increase the lead for Club, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 6.
M. Suárez left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 70 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
J. Herrero was the replacement.
With 74 minutes played, Club put themselves up 0 - 7 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
C. Martinez.
That made three goals for
C. Martinez and he was marked down for the hat trick.
With 78 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
H. Chávez of Club to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 8.
