It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 12000 that came out to Auburn Jordan Hare SuperDome. Benedetto Girardi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Harke Akse and Pio Gusmeroli. People from all over Chişinău had joined up for the derby. Auburn decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. It was an obvious ambition of Rumeon to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Rumeon were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 24 minutes into the match, and R. Cristea wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. It was obvious that Rumeon had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. J. Albero increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2. The suddenness of the Rumeon's O. Auguste's pass to R. Cristea after 35 minutes caught the opposition wrong-footed, and they could only watch as the ball sailed home for 0 - 3. The players of Rumeon now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The home crowd was not impressed when M. Bălănescu came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 40 minutes. Rumeon were now up 0 - 4. After 41 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Y. Demchuk to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 5. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why I. Volontir found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. With 43 minutes played, Rumeon put themselves up 0 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was J. Albero. 0 - 6 was the halftime score. Rumeon claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 75 percent.

Rumeon increased their lead after 52 minutes when J. Albero broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 7, much to the home crowd's dismay. By then J. Albero had scored three goals - a hat trick! The visitors' M. Bălănescu took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 70 minutes into the match. 0 - 8 for Rumeon. M. Bălănescu received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 78 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 9. The Rumeon fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for M. Bălănescu. With 80 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed Y. Demchuk of Rumeon to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 10. After 83 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave J. Albero a chance to increase the lead for Rumeon, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 11. Rumeon had most of the ball, with 76 percent of possession.

The most dominating Auburn player was without a doubt N. Creangă. V. Cumătru on the other hand, had a terrible day. A. Muggiasca performed admirably for Rumeon. However, E. Procopciuc made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 11.
