(390005024)

24-06-2012 17.30
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 11849 to
Western Stadium.
Luciano van Buren was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Eugen Nedelescu and
Matteo Vestuti.
IRONS had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Lera Hernández - Osuna, Lazcano, Negrete - Cornejo, Valenzuela Isla, Patiño, Riggs, Irineu - Ek, Contreras.
Plaza tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Lineup: Ojeda - Alarcón, Camargo, Patiño Paniceres, Enveij - Fabela, De la Fuente, Casillas, Rocha - Redondo, Marcin.
IRONS took the lead 3 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
A. Ek elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
IRONS made it 2 - 0 as
I. Negrete got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to
A. Patiño who whipped a low drive in off the far post.
Cheers filled the stadium as
I. Negrete broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to IRONS.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of IRONS lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
After 32 minutes,
A. Ek put IRONS ahead 4 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
IRONS's
J. Contreras increased the lead to 5 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 36 minutes.
It was 5 - 0 at the break.
IRONS had most of the ball, with 78 percent of possession.
With 49 minutes played, IRONS put themselves up 6 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
A. Lazcano, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
With 53 minutes played,
J. Contreras could have brought this one home for IRONS as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
Plaza's
R. Rocha had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 72 minutes having been played.
J. Aladrén was the replacement.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
J. Valenzuela Isla squirmed through their central defence after 79 minutes, increasing the lead to 7 - 0.
With 80 minutes played,
J. Aladrén of Plaza fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
IRONS put themselves up 8 - 0 when
J. Contreras broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
84 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
C. Irineu broke through, making the score 9 - 0 for IRONS.
IRONS claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 82 percent.
A. Ek performed admirably for IRONS.
I. Negrete was a disappointment, however.
Plaza's top performer was clearly
J. Aladrén.
However,
G. Ojeda made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 9 - 0.
