BoysFromTheDwarf 1 - 3 Luddites (390050675)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 67234 that came out to The Allott Stadium. Endre Széll was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Shelton Mahan and Jorge Alcaraz. BoysFromTheDwarf decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. Lineup: Leigh - Shackleton, Singh, Ender - Vaughan, Powell, Allen, Plowright - Oughton, Harlow, James-Roxby.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Luddites. They fielded: Arnau - Sandoval, Manrique Rojas, Boboia, López - Skrl, Yaroshenko, Schmitt, Langlotz - Vadász, Lodolini.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Luddites. Luddites took the lead 11 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. M. Lodolini was the scorer. Luddites's D. Yaroshenko had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 19 minutes having been played. M. Cortelazzo was the replacement. BoysFromTheDwarf's D. Singh got himself booked for a foul. BoysFromTheDwarf put pressure on the visitors' central defence 25 minutes into the game, but D. James-Roxby couldn't find an opening. T. Vadász knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 0 - 2 after 26 minutes. BoysFromTheDwarf needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 34 minutes D. Singh made way for J. Barratt. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to BoysFromTheDwarf, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

BoysFromTheDwarf refused to be intimidated and, breaking through the middle, E. Harlow managed to slip the ball home for 1 - 2. After 58 minutes, BoysFromTheDwarf switched D. James-Roxby with R. Tozer, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Some fine movement on the left led to a Luddites goal after 65 minutes, making it 1 - 3. T. Vadász was noted down as the scorer. J. Barratt tried to get a goal back for BoysFromTheDwarf but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as A. Oughton tried lifting the ball over keeper E. Arnau. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. It wasn't a good day at all for T. Vaughan. His powerful style of play just didn't fit the bill on this warm day. With 87 minutes played, D. Allen was very close to reducing the score for BoysFromTheDwarf with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner. Luddites's counterattack was impressive and was only stopped by a shocking foul. Somehow, the referee's cards remained in his pocket - a terrible decision! B. Sandoval's resulting free kick was easily saved by the keeper. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by BoysFromTheDwarf, with 55 percent of the ball.

E. Harlow performed admirably for BoysFromTheDwarf. H. Leigh on the other hand, had a terrible day. Luddites's best player was M. Lodolini. M. Cortelazzo was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
