17-06-2012 18.00
It had rained all day, but 54793 hardy fans still made it out to
Pork Park.
Bence Hanó was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Cas van der Duin van Maasdam and
Rafael Luengo.
Everyone was excited about the upcoming
Yorkshire derby and the crowd was divided evenly.
Pork decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Wans - Quaid, Wyco, Sanderson, Floyd - Misstear, Bunter, Anderson, Fisher - Hatton, Hick.
Rockingham tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
Starters: Del Pozo - Laftsis, Nevin, Valdivieso, Thomas - Sjouwerman, Chance, Dawkins, Borrelli, Grant - Anderson.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Pork.
Today, Rockingham's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
Attacking on the wings was the choice for Rockingham, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack.
The guests took the lead 17 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
K. Grant scoring to make it 0 - 1.
J. Sjouwerman slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today.
26 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as
L. Borrelli finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
L. Borrelli of Rockingham took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 36 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 3.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Rockingham lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
G. Anderson didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain.
B. Wans got a fingertip on
H. Anderson's shot from the left 40 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal.

Rockingham were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings.
50 minutes into the game, Rockingham worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
Good work by the Pork defensive line after 53 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
B. Wyco alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide.
Rockingham's
J. Sjouwerman refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 54 minutes.
Pork's
K. Fisher was shown a yellow card after 64 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
