(390051406)

08-07-2012 18.00
It had rained all day, but 29106 hardy fans still made it out to
Finchampstead Road.
Vincent Frye was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jorge Méndez and
Khalil Abdulah Qazwini.
Lotions decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Paul - 云凡 (Yunfan), Busby, Sprackling - Harle, Hayden, Toon, Grant, Granner - Sandys, Browne.
Feckenham started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.
Starters: Stefanutti - Godefroy, Machlarz, Henales - Matei, Hayes, Oliveira, Osicki - Akkermans, Grellinger, Wolfen.
Feckenham displayed their ability to play creatively.
After a fine move down the middle
D. Browne nearly gave the home side a goal after 17 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
Feckenham's
N. Oliveira gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 19 minutes with a superb strike from the right.
J. Akkermans was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace.
27 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as
J. Akkermans finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
S. Godefroy sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
J. Akkermans after 30 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 3.
0 - 3 was the score after the first half.
Lotions claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
The referee signalled a penalty 49 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box.
J. Akkermans knocked it home to make the score 0 - 4.
The players of Feckenham now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit
G. Hayes just fine.
With 70 minutes played,
D. Browne was very close to reducing the score for Lotions with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner.
G. Hayes of Feckenham received a yellow card after 80 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Lotions, with 55 percent of the ball.
Lotions's top performer was clearly
D. Browne.
S. Harle turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Feckenham player was without a doubt
E. Grellinger.
G. Matei on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 4.
