Porterville could have put themselves ahead after 43 minutes but
H. Stenild missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right.
A foul called during a Birchfields counterattack resulted in a great chance to score, but
J. Valjavec's shot rattled off the post.

Confident in their lead, Porterville's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
