(390053482)

08-07-2012 18.00
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 59958 to
Huish Park.
Mičeslavas Birenis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Alessandro Fiorentini and
Hunter Ponting.
A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Yeovil.
The following players took the field: Vara del Rey - Clarkson, Gruborovics, Bicko, Hay, Ford - Goel, Happonen, Lattmann, Elstner - McFarlane.
Dodgeball decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
They fielded: Caruso - Khaleil, Lamb, al Hafez, Dondajewski - Othman, Haba, Snegov, Klinghart - Passarella, Johansson.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 16 minutes into the match left Dodgeball's
N. Khaleil completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
With the scoreboard showing that 23 minutes had been played, Dodgeball nearly put themselves up another goal after
F. Passarella came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
J. Johansson came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
J. Vara del Rey but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Dodgeball, with 56 percent of the ball.
After 60 minutes, Yeovil switched
L. McFarlane with
P. Grúmenov, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed Yeovil's coach gave
J. Serey the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
G. Lattmann reluctantly left the field.
The intense heat forced
C. Klinghart into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others.
After 73 minutes of game time,
T. Dondajewski had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
J. Vara del Rey was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner.
74 minutes in, and Yeovil were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when
E. Happonen picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper.
75 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Dodgeball substitution.
P. Stibal came on for
T. Lamb.
After 79 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Yeovil found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
passable.
Down the middle came
G. Othman, making a fantastic play that nearly had Dodgeball take the lead after 83 minutes, but
J. Vara del Rey preserved the tie.
Yeovil's
A. Hay was shown a yellow card after 87 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
C. Caruso's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for Dodgeball, he bravely continued in the match.
The guests almost went up by a goal after 89 minutes when
J. Johansson came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though.
89 minutes into the match, Dodgeball's
C. Klinghart demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to
J. Johansson who chipped it in for 1 - 2.
Possession in this half belonged to Dodgeball, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.
Yeovil's best player was
J. Clarkson.
P. Grúmenov on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Dodgeball player was without a doubt
J. Johansson.
On the other hand,
C. Klinghart's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 2.
