Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 49089 to Danny's Den. Kay Kuckuck was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Robert Milanko and Mechyslau Silich. Riot started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Altschul - Johnson, Hartley - Campbell, Beazley, Apple, Andrew, Kennedy - Larkin, Ewen, Kinnieson.

Walders had chosen a strategic 5-2-3 formation. They fielded: Longhurst - Severn, Geary, Ilarduya, Watt, Turnbull - Johnson, Edmond - Milu, Horner, Hosnedl.

Riot broke through on the left 7 minutes into the game, with H. Ewen firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. After 15 minutes Riot's H. Ewen had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. F. Noblett came in to replace him. 29 minutes in, Walders appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. Riot managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when F. Campbell cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Riot scored another to make it 3 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for F. Larkin after 41 minutes. 42 minutes into the game, Walders had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to inadequate. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Riot to 4 - 0 as S. Andrew finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. After 44 minutes, Riot's A. Kinnieson fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! Things were going to get worse for the visitors. S. Andrew squirmed through their central defence after 44 minutes, increasing the lead to 5 - 0. Confident in their lead, Riot's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Halftime score was 5 - 0. Riot claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 85 percent.

During the break, Walders's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. With 51 minutes played, Riot's F. Larkin almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Riot solidified their lead at the 73 minute mark, as W. Hartley dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 0. Riot increased the lead as F. Noblett struck to make the score 7 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, S. Kennedy got himself booked. The manager of Riot was not happy. S. Andrew increased Riot's lead to 8 - 0 with a penalty spot cannonball. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for S. Andrew. Riot's F. Noblett increased the lead to 9 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 88 minutes. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Riot, with 85 percent of the ball.

Riot's best player was F. Larkin. However, F. Noblett made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Walders player was without a doubt G. Horner. T. Severn was a disappointment, however. The match ends 9 - 0.
