37620 spectators arrived at
CWKS Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Giuliano Lampa was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Nevzat Mahrur and
Li Mun-Wah.
Rossa had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
They fielded: Amodeo - Austin, Trapé, Rus, Pum - Parcham, Stumpf, Iturraspe, Meir, Katzamunski - Fortuny.
Ju Ju tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Jacinto - Frances, Siggelkow, Garnelo - Wyss, Connery, Hendon, Kelly, Cottam - Turza, Illesca.
Today, Rossa's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
A. Turza had a good try after 17 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide.
After 35 minutes, Ju Ju put themselves up 0 - 1, as
A. Turza finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
F. Siggelkow was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by
D. Kelly, but the ball bounced off the post to safety.
It was 0 - 1 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ju Ju, with 51 percent of the ball.
D. Cottam wanted to play on, but the Ju Ju coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 60 minutes into the game by
S. Hopkins.
The Rossa players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team.
A. Meir charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for Rossa, but the shot went well wide of the goal.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 63 minute mark, Ju Ju's
J. Frances hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
The Ju Ju players could smell victory in the air.
R. Illesca wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
E. Wettig after 66 minutes.
With 72 minutes played, Ju Ju put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
F. Siggelkow.
The referee showed Ju Ju's
D. Hendon the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Rossa claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
Rossa's best player was
A. Meir.
C. Amodeo on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Ju Ju player was without a doubt
A. Turza.
