Due to an all-day shower, 39520 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at The White Lightning Arena. Filip Hartsuiker was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Igor Laušević and Kuisma Karttula. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Cidaarrr. They fielded: Lenders - Malpica, Bezeljak, José - Pedrosa, Clairac, Bonnetain, N'Diaye, Dourado - Böhm, Bibić.

Scarletts decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. Lineup: Cogneau - Núñez, Móczár, Cairney, Laguda - Tiuraniemi, Nilsson, Fahrnberger, Biagioni, Stenild - Macho.

Cidaarrr saw most attack opportunities on the wings. For their match strategy, Scarletts had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Scarletts's R. Nilsson got himself booked for a foul. P. Laguda spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Cidaarrr, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 32 minutes into the match, and E. Biagioni wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. 36 minutes into the game, T. Dourado came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. 37 minutes in, and Cidaarrr were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when T. Dourado picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Cidaarrr had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

After the game, the most discussed event will probably be the penalty given after 81 minutes that gave the visitors the 1 - 2 lead. Despite the controversy, K. Macho struck home the penalty, as cool as anything. L. Bonnetain could have scored for Cidaarrr with his free kick after 83 minutes, but the visitors' keeper just managed to get a hand on it. Good work by the Scarletts defensive line after 84 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found R. Nilsson alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. E. Biagioni was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. The referee signalled a penalty 86 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. K. Macho knocked it home to make the score 1 - 3. Cidaarrr reduced the lead to 2 - 3 with 87 minutes on the clock when J. José got the best of a ball floated in from the left. V. Núñez was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! Cidaarrr had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. Possession in this half belonged to Cidaarrr, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

The most dominating Cidaarrr player was without a doubt P. Böhm. However, L. Bonnetain made a disastrous appearance. V. Núñez performed admirably for Scarletts. M. Tiuraniemi turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 3.
