Dolphin 2 - 2 United
(390066393)

26-08-2012 18.00
The crowd of 20000 turning up at
Bob's ya Uncle Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Russell Ritter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Marcus Allacher and
Piet-Hein Heil.
Dolphin had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
They fielded: Hansson - Rose, Bossen, Marinescu - Charrière, Nies, Mast, Rinkes, Samul - Gammelgaard, Maluleke.
United tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Lineup: Azzarello - Krzempek, Vrede, Frezzolino - Caragea, Šindel, Buckley, Tapia, Dale - Ascot, Palmer.
United mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
United took the lead after 7 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
T. Ascot placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
With 8 minutes played,
G. Mast of Dolphin fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
The referee showed Dolphin's
G. Nies the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
A loud groan was heard from the fans of United, as
L. Dale left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match.
J. Allen took his place on the field.
Halftime score was 0 - 1.
Possession in this half belonged to Dolphin, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.
The corner kick from
D. Marinescu was powerfully met by the head of
G. Mast to make the score 1 - 1.
The visiting
T. Buckley was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 68 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 1 - 2 was the score.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
J. Allen from United a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 76 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Dolphin were forced into a substitution as
M. Rinkes couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing
Á. Tuskán to come in off the bench.
After 79 minutes,
Á. Tuskán made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 2 - 2.
M. Caragea, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass.
Dolphin had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.
Dolphin's best player was
G. Nies.
Á. Tuskán on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important United player was
J. Palmer.
J. Allen was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 2.
