(390067979)

24-06-2012 18.00
Dark skies made the crowd of 27448 at
Atlantic Suite Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Ewald Witzendorf was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Kevin Bergmann and
Markus Andersen.
Atlantic started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Storli - Reales, Aldag, Szabó - Chicategui, Eshtiaghi, Pons, Santos, Tudorache - Marceau, Prusik.
Teamzone had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Koszewski - Ebels, Seip, Korkeamäki, Ritto - Melone, Komínek, Pratscher, Dvorževskis - Phillips, Corvaja.
Atlantic used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
Teamzone decided to play creatively.
Teamzone's
V. Dvorževskis was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
A. Phillips managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 0 - 1 after 28 minutes.
After 34 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
G. Melone a chance to increase the lead for Teamzone, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2.
A. Marceau's lightning pace was too much for
K. Ebels who could only look on as the Atlantic player blasted one home. 1 - 2.
Atlantic's
D. Pons made an attempt at equalising 43 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound.
The visitors'
A. Phillips took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 44 minutes into the match. 1 - 3 for Teamzone.
At 44 minutes into the game, Atlantic's
A. Marceau deftly knocked the ball home after an impressive run down the left, reducing the visitors' lead to 2 - 3.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 3.
Atlantic had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
The crowd chanted their encouragement as Atlantic's
T. Chicategui came in from the right after 59 minutes and put the ball in the net to level the score at 3 - 3.
Making his way up the middle 63 minutes into the match,
M. Tudorache almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
A. Koszewski blocked it to keep the score level.
The visiting
J. Komínek was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 80 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 3 - 4 was the score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Atlantic, with 57 percent of the ball.
Atlantic's top performer was clearly
A. Marceau.
L. Szabó was a disappointment, however.
Most important Teamzone player was
A. Phillips.
A. Ritto turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 4.
