It was obvious that Futebol had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. Futebol's H. Ryan made a successful breakthrough on the left after 40 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar. Futebol made it 2 - 2 as B. Cergolj got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to H. Dimer who whipped a low drive in off the far post. It was 2 - 2 at the break. chelsea claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 61 minutes into the match, and K. Gerencsér wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 2 - 3 for the visitors. After 65 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave G. Daumas a chance to increase the lead for chelsea, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 2 - 4. After 68 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for F. Diebitsch who increased chelsea's lead to 2 - 5. The visitors' J. Banegas took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 71 minutes into the match. 2 - 6 for chelsea. It was obvious that team chelsea had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. I. Popa received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 79 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 2 - 7. The chelsea fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
