quinns 2 - 2 Havagoza (390091412)

Clear skies welcomed the 9162 spectators who had made their way to quinns lads Arena. Laurens van der Aa was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marc Matewhitu and Luca Mackel. quinns had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players took the field: Carroll - Foreman, Beazer, Moore, Beck - Banner, London, Grinblat, Thom - Elmes, Bridge.

Havagoza decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Day - Loughran, Breen, Heather, Griffiths - Johnston, James-Roxby, Ullman, Lang - Pike, Gooch.

quinns broke through on the left 1 minutes into the game, with D. Elmes firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. M. Gooch of Havagoza seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by B. Loughran. 15 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for quinns to take the lead after a good cross from the right found L. Foreman alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to quinns, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

quinns made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left J. Beck completely alone with keeper T. Day, who made a spectacular block. A. Heather of Havagoza received a yellow card after 64 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Havagoza took the lead after 79 minutes making the score 1 - 2. C. James-Roxby placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. 81 minutes into the match, quinns's R. London maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 2 - 2. After 82 minutes quinns's N. Bridge contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. quinns claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

quinns's top performer was clearly D. Elmes. R. London turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Havagoza player was without a doubt T. Pike. On the other hand, T. Day's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 2.
