Persuasion 0 - 4 Chapelfields (390091415)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 8260 to Asian Persuasion Arena. Stephan Hiebl was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rasmus Bárálíð and Aubin Verstraeten. Persuasion decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. They fielded: Northausen - Paterson, Carpenter, Kealey, Hertaud-Wright - Parker, Ryan, Matin, Islam - Waterworth, Barley.

Chapelfields had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. Starters: Armour - Steel, Turner, Dye - Andrews, Rees, Inglis, Dunne - Hay, Gallagher, Botsforth.

The visiting A. Gallagher was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 5 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. Chapelfields's J. Hay got himself booked for a foul. J. Hay knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the Chapelfields player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from L. Botsforth after 22 minutes, and prevented Chapelfields from going up another goal. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 26 minutes, Chapelfields did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, G. Steel was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 2. N. Islam of Persuasion received a yellow card after 31 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. D. Kealey did everything he could to get one back for his Persuasion, but keeper R. Armour denied him with a spectacular block. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Chapelfields, with 65 percent of the ball.

Had it not been for one of the home defenders, A. Gallagher would have put Chapelfields up another goal 53 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. 65 minutes in, Persuasion's D. Kealey received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. With 68 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed F. Rees of Chapelfields to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3. An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by Chapelfields's A. Gallagher put the visitors up 0 - 4 after 70 minutes. The players of Chapelfields now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Chapelfields had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

Persuasion's best player was A. Barley. However, J. Northausen made a disastrous appearance. Most important Chapelfields player was L. Botsforth. J. Dye on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 4.
