A counterattack by Dantes after 16 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but L. Spock, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. Mothy had a good opportunity to take the lead as D. Oduro came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of B. Bose. Mothy's A. Eade got himself booked for a foul. Dantes were forced into a substitution as L. Spock couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing A. Cairns to come in off the bench. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when J. Guiry slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against H. Church, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. Dantes's A. O'Connor was shown a yellow card after 31 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 32 minutes in, Mothy appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. Many thought B. Tyne ought to have been awarded a penalty 34 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around B. Bose after a determined run through the middle. 0 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Mothy, with 74 percent of the ball.

A review of the gameplan helped Mothy get back to a solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. M. Goyochea gave Mothy the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 Given a free kick close to the byline, Mothy tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let M. Goyochea slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 0, 62 minutes into the game. By now, the players in Mothy felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. M. Goyochea increased the lead for Mothy to 4 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for M. Goyochea. M. Weitzen wanted to play on, but the Mothy coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 75 minutes into the game by R. Johnson. 79 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as B. Fish broke through, making the score 5 - 0 for Mothy. The referee showed Mothy's M. Goyochea the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The Mothy players could smell victory in the air. C. Dalton wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for K. Johur after 88 minutes. Mothy enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 73 percent of possession.

Mothy's top performer was clearly R. Johnson. However, A. Boutal made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Dantes player was without a doubt L. Kooper. On the other hand, B. Bose's play was disheartening. The match ends 5 - 0.
