Dark skies made the crowd of 45000 at
Bredon Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Maurus Pfalzgraf was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Vincent Ploquin and
Klaudiusz Knyt.
People from all over
Lagos had joined up for the derby.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Bredon.
Lineup: Lourenço Nunes - Iliev, Falco, Rechberger - John, Calcagno, Trojanowski, Antunes, Usman - Gassler, Spina.
Berserkers had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Valver - Duţescu, Amadi - Bagnacani, Casablanca, Lamus, Ibar, Sankoh - Wołczyk, Schädler, Munteanu.
Berserkers tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
G. Calcagno gave Bredon the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0

Z. Wołczyk received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Berserkers were close to putting the equaliser away after 23 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to
J. Amadi in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line.
After 33 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
R. Gassler gave the Bredon supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0.
Bredon's
R. Gassler increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 34 minutes.
After this, you could see that the players of Bredon were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
C. Casablanca got himself booked. The manager of Berserkers was not happy.
A great save by keeper
J. Valver after 37 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
A. Antunes struck from the left with a real cannonball.
Berserkers reduced the lead after 38 minutes to 3 - 1 as
Z. Wołczyk easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 1.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Bredon, with 55 percent of the ball.
G. Munteanu of Berserkers was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Bredon's
R. Gassler had an excellent opportunity after 68 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
72 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
M. John broke through, making the score 4 - 1 for Bredon.
J. Trojanowski could have increased the lead after 74 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
The corner kick from
C. Casablanca was powerfully met by the head of
A. Lamus to make the score 4 - 2.
Cheers filled the stadium as
B. Spina broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 2 to Bredon.
Bredon claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
Most important Bredon player was
J. Trojanowski.
J. Usman was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Berserkers player was without a doubt
D. Schädler.
J. Valver turned in a dismal performance, however.
