Due to an all-day shower, 39174 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at The Forge. Luca Vaccari was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Max Würfl and Salvador Morán. The derby had been the talk of Lagos all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Berserkers had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Valver - Duţescu, Amadi - Bagnacani, Casablanca, Lamus, Ibar, Sankoh - Wołczyk, Schädler, Munteanu.

Bandely decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. Lineup: Sevilha - Davidsson, Wästertorp, Eriksson, Tilander - Staš, de Keizer, Steffenhagen, Rãdan - Barba, Pérez.

Berserkers tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Thighs bulging, F. de Keizer charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. Bandely's F. de Keizer managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 23 minutes. 0 - 1. Berserkers's Z. Wołczyk was shown a yellow card after 38 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 40 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as Z. Staš finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, Z. Staš would have put Bandely up another goal 41 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Berserkers, with 56 percent of the ball.

It took several tries, but Berserkers managed to break through on the left after 47 minutes, getting the ball to E. Ibar who easily reduced the lead to make the score 1 - 2. The crowd was amused as M. Wästertorp of Bandely used a few interesting tricks and dribbles to get into the penalty box. The finish by Z. Staš wasn't very amusing, however, as the ball flew way over the crossbar. An accurate cross from Z. Staš of Bandely was met with a wonderful glancing header from G. Pérez, hitting the inside base of the post before nestling into the back of the net for 1 - 3. Berserkers enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

Most important Berserkers player was D. Schädler. J. Valver on the other hand, had a terrible day. Bandely's top performer was clearly T. Eriksson. However, G. Pérez made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 3.
