(390193966)

12-08-2012 18.45
Clouds darkened the skies at
Water Side Stamford Bridge as 41996 spectators turned up for the match.
Mattias Eriksson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Manfred Sulzbacher and
Manuel Antonio Suárez.
The derby had been the talk of
Lagos all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
Bandely tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
They fielded: Sevilha - Davidsson, Wästertorp, Eriksson, Tilander - Staš, de Keizer, Steffenhagen, Rãdan - Barba, Pérez.
Berserkers had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
Starters: Valver - Duţescu, Amadi - Bagnacani, Casablanca, Lamus, Ibar, Sankoh - Wołczyk, Wayas, Chidi.
Berserkers mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
M. Wästertorp, but the Bandely player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
The score became 2 - 0 at 17 minutes into the game, when Bandely were given a penalty which
S. Tilander blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance!
Berserkers had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
Bandely's
P. Rãdan showed off his trademark ability to do the unexpected with a tricky pass after 29 minutes. Unfortunately,
Z. Staš was startled by the play and wasn't able to control the finish.
The home crowd was silenced as
C. Casablanca took a successful penalty shot 32 minutes into the game, reducing the home lead to 2 - 1.
2 - 1 was the halftime score.
Berserkers enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
Bandely were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 57 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by
S. Tilander. 3 - 1 for the home side.
With 59 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Bandely's
Z. Staš reached
G. Pérez's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 4 - 1.
P. Rãdan increased the lead for Bandely to 5 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
By now, the players in Bandely felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
84 minutes into the game,
J. Amadi had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
D. Danbaba.
Possession in this half belonged to Berserkers, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.
The most dominating Bandely player was without a doubt
T. Eriksson.
G. Pérez was a disappointment, however.
Berserkers's best player was
E. Ibar.
On the other hand,
D. Danbaba's play was disheartening.
The match ends 5 - 1.
