Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 8382 at GME Arena today. Emil Dinu was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jens Schultheiß and Erkki Perkki . A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for GME. Lineup: Abbey - Way, Eke, Bassey, Chickwas - Moses, Babuin, Mubako, Wayo - Dabo, Mboweni.

Sammylilreal decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. They fielded: Łagodzin - Abbey, Ranjith, Etete - Zhelyazkov, Spampanato, Panuccio, Wetego - Takayama, Tesson, Falcione.

With 12 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. C. Takayama put the ball away for 0 - 1. T. Tesson came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over I. Abbey but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. Sammylilreal had to make a substitution after 20 minutes. N. Spampanato limped off the field and was replaced by L. Enyia. 23 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as A. Abbey finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. After 35 minutes, Sammylilreal sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached L. Enyia, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 3. It was 0 - 3 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by GME, with 57 percent of the ball.

After 49 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave T. Tesson a chance to increase the lead for Sammylilreal, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4. The players of Sammylilreal now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. GME's R. Wayo was shown a yellow card after 67 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Unfortunately for Sammylilreal, M. Panuccio was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. M. Kabba replaced him. GME had a brilliant opportunity to reply as B. Mboweni received a high ball from the right, striking the ball in the air. Only S. Łagodzin's reflexes saved him. GME's J. Babuin had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 72 minutes having been played. H. Kodjo was the replacement. M. Chickwas tried to get a goal back for GME but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move. Some fine movement on the left led to a Sammylilreal goal after 83 minutes, making it 0 - 5. C. Takayama was noted down as the scorer. With 88 minutes played, H. Kodjo was very close to reducing the score for GME with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave B. Mboweni from GME a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 89 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! GME enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.

GME's top performer was clearly B. Mboweni. H. Way on the other hand, had a terrible day. C. Takayama performed admirably for Sammylilreal. However, W. Wetego made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 5.
