The crowd of 59637 turning up at Daar gaan we dan! Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Delfin Ismael was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Norbert Végh and Bent Nordkvist. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Daar. The following players took the field: Smits - Pişu, van Creveld, Arkusha - Bijkerk, van der Pennen, Hoogewoning, Jongsma, Soutendijk - van Meer, Groen.

JRune tactics involved an interesting 5-2-3 combination. Starters: Jaber - Caprã, Rudkowski, Žilić, Lacrampe, Voeteling - Buma, de Reiziger - Bandović, Delwiche, Kruempelmann.

Daar were clearly looking ahead to the next match rather than focusing on the one at hand. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of JRune. After 16 minutes, H. Jongsma made a complete fool of himself when he presented the ball to the feet of M. Bandović who smashed it into the open goal for JRune. 0 - 1. R. Delwiche showed why he is feared on the counterattack, breaking through in the middle and scoring for JRune after 20 minutes to make the score 0 - 2. After 30 minutes, JRune surprised their opponents with a breakaway counter attack. The defenders had to resort to a foul to stop it. The free kick that followed was a clever indirect effort that almost succeeded, but the defence read the situation well and the intended recipient was left ruing what might have been. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Daar, with 84 percent of the ball.

Being behind after the first half was a shock for the Daar players. They returned to the field with a new sense of purpose. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as M. Soutendijk tried lifting the ball over keeper H. Jaber. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. A misunderstanding between the visitors' keeper H. Jaber and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for Daar, but J. Groen's finish was way too lame. H. van Meer's experience almost gave Daar a goal after 78 minutes but the keeper made a great save. Daar reduced the lead to 1 - 2 with 80 minutes on the clock when H. van Meer got the best of a ball floated in from the left. R. Delwiche did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch. 85 minutes into the match, Daar's E. Hoogewoning maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 2 - 2. Daar had most of the ball, with 87 percent of possession.

H. van Meer performed admirably for Daar. W. van Creveld was a disappointment, however. JRune's top performer was clearly G. Kruempelmann. However, J. Žilić made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 2.
