Dark skies made the crowd of 69567 at
Jepoev Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.

Today, JRune's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
For their match strategy, DeRodeDuivels had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
L. Count was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a DeRodeDuivels counterattack from the left after 5 minutes. His neat finish made the score 0 - 1.
The crowd was on its feet 19 minutes into the match, as JRune's
G. Kruempelmann found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser.
L. Snip came close to putting the visiting team one up 23 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but
H. Jaber managed to tip the ball to a corner.
32 minutes into the match, DeRodeDuivels nearly took the lead, as
E. Vijil broke through on the right.
H. Jaber made the save, however.
R. Wennemars of JRune seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 2 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
R. Delwiche.
Players in JRune heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead.
L. Snip knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 2 - 2 after 36 minutes.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 2.
JRune enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 67 percent of possession.
The home side put themselves ahead 3 - 2 after 47 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
R. Snitjer, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
After 52 minutes, JRune's
R. Delwiche found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 4 - 2.
JRune's
G. Kruempelmann had an excellent opportunity after 58 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
Content with how the game was proceeding, the JRune coach let
R. Voeteling replace
G. Kruempelmann after 60 minutes.
After a short break after 61 minutes, JRune seemed to change their tactical approach a bit.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by JRune, with 68 percent of the ball.
G. de Reiziger performed admirably for JRune.
However,
H. Jaber made a disastrous appearance.
DeRodeDuivels's top performer was clearly
L. Snip.
L. Count on the other hand, had a terrible day.
