Langerak 3 - 2 Feynoord
(390243381)

08-07-2012 20.00
The 46335 spectators at
Het Zuiderpark were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Eilert Hansen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Leandro Matesanz and
Ludwig Reimar Harangus.
The derby had been the talk of
Rotterdam all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Langerak.
Starters: Garagnani - Padilla, Mumoli, Sánchez, Bonnemann - Soldaat, Répellin, Korovyakovskiy, Rosário - Cristian, Bölk.
Feynoord tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Lopes - Barendrecht, van Pelt, van Brugge - Konterman, Šalovėjus, Gravenstein, Hoogenboom, Derkacz - Hutmann, Żubrowski.
Feynoord saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 6 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
F. Cristian, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
After 10 minutes, Feynoord raised their score by one when
M. Konterman's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by
D. Żubrowski. 1 - 1.
With 15 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as
M. Padilla flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
O. Bölk's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence.
The referee showed Langerak's
F. Cristian the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
37 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 2 - 2 as
F. Barendrecht struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right.
It was 2 - 2 at the break.
Langerak claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
After 59 minutes, Langerak sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
E. Korovyakovskiy, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 3 - 2.
F. Barendrecht neatly controlled the ball after a short corner, and knocked it on to
G. Derkacz who had the whole net open before him, but only managed to hit the post.
The heat made it a terrible day for
J. Hoogenboom, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players.
N. Bonnemann should probably have put his team up another goal after 76 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
M. Lopes kept the visitors in the game.
Feynoord's
G. Derkacz left the field after 77 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
M. Fenizia.
Feynoord's right side looked dangerous 84 minutes in, but
M. Garagnani made a good save on
D. Żubrowski's hard shot to the top corner.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
F. van Pelt from Feynoord a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 86 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
E. Korovyakovskiy could have increased the lead after 87 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
Langerak enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.
Most important Langerak player was
O. Bölk.
N. Bonnemann turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Feynoord player was without a doubt
O. Gravenstein.
On the other hand,
M. Fenizia's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 2.
