Dark skies made the crowd of 24850 at Hells Harbour a little nervous, but the rain held off. Mack Kaplan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Konstantin Loret and Marko Niinikangas. MicHelsangels had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. They fielded: van Cauteren - de Wael, Bomer, Bollaert - Shariff, Feskens, Waalwijk, Buitenhek - Bogaard, van der Wetering, Steger.

Khazad-dûm started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: van Muiswinkel - Muntinga, Bergeon, Abu-Aziz - Nesta, Seipuls, Schurink, Hommes, Caldara - Zouch, Zacharidis.

After 5 minutes, G. Steger came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving MicHelsangels the lead. Khazad-dûm's B. Zouch got himself booked for a foul. Khazad-dûm's right side looked dangerous 25 minutes in, but P. van Cauteren made a good save on J. Hommes's hard shot to the top corner. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to MicHelsangels, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

A well placed corner kick from S. Bogaard was followed by J. Waalwijk's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for MicHelsangels, the score now 2 - 0. Confident in their lead, MicHelsangels's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. With 55 minutes played, the Khazad-dûm coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. W. van der Weerden came on, J. Hommes had to leave the fray. U. Seipuls became the new Khazad-dûm captain. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. S. Bogaard squirmed through their central defence after 67 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. MicHelsangels's D. Bomer had an excellent opportunity after 72 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! After 83 minutes, a deliberate handball from Khazad-dûm's B. Zouch was judged to be his second bookable offence, and he was sent off. R. Bremer was called on to replace MicHelsangels's D. Bomer after 85 minutes following a nasty collision. MicHelsangels had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.

MicHelsangels's best player was G. Steger. R. Bremer was a disappointment, however. Most important Khazad-dûm player was D. Zacharidis. On the other hand, C. Nesta's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 0.
