Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Pechvogels. Rulesz's L. Nagel tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. J. Puig was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! 33 minutes in, the referee awarded Rulesz a penalty. H. Jegerings coolly slotted it home for a 1 - 0 lead. Pechvogels's A. Toupeira was shown a yellow card after 35 minutes for slicing down an opponent. An equalising goal seemed certain after 36 minutes when A. Toupeira attacked down the left wing, but Q. Abbas just managed to make a save to keep the ball out of the net. Cheers filled the stadium as J. Puig broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Rulesz. Rulesz put themselves up 3 - 0 when C. Desxpro broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. The players of Rulesz now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Pechvogels certainly deserved a goal after some stunning play down the left, but O. Višňovský just wasn't able to finish. Halftime score was 3 - 0. Rulesz enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.

H. Jegerings could have increased the lead after 63 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Coming in from the right, Pechvogels had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 64 minutes, but K. Wiktorowicz's attempt to finish was easily stopped. C. Desxpro could have put Rulesz up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 84 minutes. After 85 minutes, a counter attack by Pechvogels was converted into a decent free kick opportunity. However, the indirect free kick routine was easily anticipated by the defenders. A textbook example of how to defend a free kick - the attackers were left with few viable options. With the clock showing 87 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Pechvogels resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by Z. Tołwiński in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. C. Desxpro left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 89 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. I. Cantón was the replacement. The coach of Rulesz was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 89 minutes, V. Ciobanu came on for H. Jegerings. N. Kamp wanted to play on, but the Rulesz coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 89 minutes into the game by M. Bøgeskov. Rulesz had most of the ball, with 66 percent of possession.

Rulesz's best player was J. Puig. M. Bøgeskov was a disappointment, however. Most important Pechvogels player was K. Kakuja. I. Maikkola turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
