Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 48726 at Dassel United Arena today. Don Phipps was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Bengt-Åke Hansson and Gerold Duval. Dassel tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Dassel had a chance to take the lead after M. Dambacher's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 2 minutes. Dassel made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left I. Hendrickx completely alone with keeper Q. Kremer, who made a spectacular block. Winning took the lead 30 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. H. Breed was the scorer. W. Boezewinkel was, after 31 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper S. Medina Davila made the save. Halftime score was 0 - 1. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.

67 minutes into the match, W. Boezewinkel came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Dassel's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 68 minutes gone, but L. Voorhoeve's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. After 75 minutes, S. Mathijsse got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. S. Medina Davila got a fingertip on A. Pijl's shot from the left 77 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, J. Kleibeuker got himself booked. The manager of Dassel was not happy. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

Most important Dassel player was M. Dambacher. C. Alofs on the other hand, had a terrible day. A. Versteden performed admirably for Winning. L. Teeuwen turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 1.
