It had rained all day, but 27814 hardy fans still made it out to Weerdt Science. Gregers Højmark was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dan Hansson and Gian-Luca De Cnodder. T.D.W. had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. Starters: Boonstra - Bosman, Apeldoorn - Witsen, van der Giessen, Kruijs, Turkstra, Di Biase - van Geffelen, Winsemius, Rivaben.

A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Jenever. They fielded: Jado - Haffner, van Esseveldt, Girr, Martínez de Garro, Dijkhuizen - Sangkaew, Kusturica, Abeln, Delannoy - von Graffenried.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Jenever. After 9 minutes, Jenever put themselves up 0 - 1, as B. Kusturica finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. F. Kruijs was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, A. Winsemius got himself booked. The manager of T.D.W. was not happy. A. Winsemius was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for T.D.W. with a strike from the left, but P. Jado managed to ward the shot off for a corner. Jenever played a good counterattacking move down the left 44 minutes into the match, with G. von Graffenried finishing well for 0 - 2. 44 minutes into the match, T. Delannoy came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by T.D.W., with 59 percent of the ball.

51 minutes into the game, G. von Graffenried finished off a Jenever left wing counterattack, making the score 0 - 3. N. Sangkaew left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 56 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. P. Vitiello was the replacement. The Jenever players could smell victory in the air. B. Kusturica wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for L. Coelingh after 65 minutes. With 75 minutes played, Jenever put themselves up 0 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was S. Girr. Confident in their lead, Jenever's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Speedy T. Delannoy tried one of his patented rushes 77 minutes into the game, but W. Turkstra was just as fast and averted the attack. It was a bad day for the usually speedy T. Delannoy. The mud seemed to slow him down. Jenever's H. Haffner got himself booked for a foul. Unfortunately for T.D.W., A. Winsemius was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. T. van der Haar replaced him. The referee showed T.D.W.'s M. Di Biase the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The visitors' H. Haffner took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 88 minutes into the match. 0 - 5 for Jenever. T.D.W. enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

F. Boonstra performed admirably for T.D.W.. S. Bosman turned in a dismal performance, however. Jenever's best player was G. von Graffenried. On the other hand, P. Jado's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 5.
