(390257108)

08-07-2012 20.00
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 36585 to
West-End.
Valerio Filippone was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Henri Fontaine and
Cãlin Stanciu.
G.S.A.V.V. decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Heikkala - Dimitrakopoulos, Wissel, Stoyanov - Stojanovic, Cannata, Smajlaj, Himmel, Langer - Wiatrowski, Vialle.
Tricolores started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Wolfrat - Uma, Garrett, Walenkamp - Osek, Valkering, van Weeren, Linssen, Haynes - Peper, Zumpolle.
Tricolores tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
K. Wissel got himself booked. The manager of G.S.A.V.V. was not happy.
J. van Weeren's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence.
0 - 1 was the score with 37 minutes played, after
T. Peper cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Tricolores.
G.S.A.V.V.'s
R. Wiatrowski left the field after 38 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
T. Babić.
After 39 minutes, Tricolores's
T. Peper burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2.
The players of Tricolores now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
I. Himmel should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Tricolores a goal with 41 minutes of the match played.
A. Heikkala kept the home side in the game with a magnificent save when
T. Peper delivered an almost perfect free kick to the far post.
The home crowd were delighted when
M. Stojanovic scored with a header after an attack from the right, making the score 1 - 2. But did he use his hand? That'll be one for the pundits to talk about after the game, that's for sure!
1 - 2 was the score after the first half.
G.S.A.V.V. enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
U. Clementino was called on to replace Tricolores's
K. Osek after 50 minutes following a nasty collision.
J. van Weeren was the new captain of Tricolores - handed the armband by the departing player.
After 75 minutes,
A. Dimitrakopoulos got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away.
Due to some great work on the right wing G.S.A.V.V.'s
S. Vialle was able to even the score after 76 minutes to make the score 2 - 2.
Tricolores's
T. Peper gave the visitors a 2 - 3 lead after 78 minutes with a superb strike from the right.
That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for
T. Peper.
Possession in this half belonged to G.S.A.V.V., who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.
The most dominating G.S.A.V.V. player was without a doubt
S. Vialle.
T. Babić was a disappointment, however.
Most important Tricolores player was
J. van Weeren.
U. Clementino on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 2 - 3.
