The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 19057 had shown up at Suestra Arena for the match. Alexandre Tanghe was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jens Schæfer and Frederik Radich Christensen. SCS had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Down the middle came L. Roetlishberger, making a fantastic play that nearly had Rosse take the lead after 2 minutes, but J. Meulesteen preserved the tie. SCS were pushed back, and had many dangerous counterattacks. An impressive one came 3 minutes into the match, but I. Overbeeke narrowly missed the free kick attempt that was awarded as a result of a foul. After 12 minutes a very unfortunate collision in the penalty area led to SCS's P. Voth being carried off the pitch and replaced by E. Ruault. At 16 minutes played, R. Piórczyński came in from the right with the intention of giving SCS the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. With 28 minutes played H. Göttl almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. 35 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for SCS was K. Tanner. With 39 minutes played, the visitors could have drawn level after 圭. 原 (Hara) came through the middle, but his kick went wide. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to SCS, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

Coming from the right, P. Taganikas almost managed to score another goal for SCS, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. With 73 minutes played, SCS put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to H. Göttl, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. By now, the players in SCS felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Rosse's right side looked dangerous after 82 minutes, as R. Netland broke through. J. Meulesteen continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy. 85 minutes in, Rosse's C. Maiellaro received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. H. Göttl had a fantastic opportunity to put SCS up another goal 86 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. F. Achtenberg should probably have put his team up another goal after 87 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by A. Pomés kept the visitors in the game. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, F. Achtenberg got himself booked. The manager of SCS was not happy. 88 minutes in, T. Szymala made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but J. Meulesteen refused to let the ball slip by him. SCS claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

SCS's top performer was clearly R. Piórczyński. E. Ruault turned in a dismal performance, however. Rosse's best player was P. Alfaro. On the other hand, L. Roetlishberger's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 0.
