Grootings 17 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Wuppenteam. With 20 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, H. Grootings needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Wuppenteam enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

With 49 minutes played, Wuppenteam's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to B. Voorthuizen he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 2 - 0. By now, the players in Wuppenteam felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. S. Dunchev should probably have put his team up another goal after 64 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by J. Girvent kept the visitors in the game. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 70 minutes, Barbet tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. A great save by keeper J. Girvent after 72 minutes kept the visitors in the game after S. Dunchev struck from the left with a real cannonball. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave V. Skovorodkin from Barbet a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 79 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Possession in this half belonged to Wuppenteam, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

Wuppenteam's best player was S. Dunchev. A. Mayzlish turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Barbet player was without a doubt E. Beckeringh. F. Vegricht on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 0.
