Dark skies made the crowd of 32600 at Home of the Wuppies a little nervous, but the rain held off. Pier Luigi Barbaro was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Răzvan-Gabriel Mot and Flavio Trenor. Wuppenteam started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Abonyi - Jaugelavičius, Vågen, Mayzlish - Beek, Koekoek, Voorthuizen, Grootings, Franner - Dunchev, Grant.

TMP decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Bouwens - Weggen, Ferrante, Zuqert - Bijanskis, Waterman, Nuis, Perutović, Alblas - Trouillet, Aalmans.

M. Grant caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 9 minutes. This gave Wuppenteam the 1 - 0 lead. The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 23 minutes, Đ. Perutović broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper. Á. Abonyi made a great block, though. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to TMP, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

TMP tied it all up, 77 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by Đ. Perutović, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1. Slack defending gave Wuppenteam a chance to take the lead with 79 minutes played, but S. Dunchev's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. TMP's R. Bouwens left the field after 84 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was J. Bracké. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

S. Dunchev performed admirably for Wuppenteam. A. Mayzlish turned in a dismal performance, however. TMP's top performer was clearly Đ. Perutović. A. Aalmans was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
