24-06-2012 20.00
A scorching day at
het rijpelsbergje, where 24556 spectators were in place for today's match.
Mattias Svensson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Roberto Garau and
Boguslav Nepiypivo.
helmen had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Bult - Teeninga, Falschlehner, Janse - Hekelaar, de Hoon, Festen, van Leest, Overdijk - Sucharda, Leijten.
Yves started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Starters: Green - Rivero Martín, Amzov, Van Helvert - Steiger, Kraidis, Nastupaylo, Mayer, Napiontek - Franco, Al Amenah.
It was an obvious ambition of helmen to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
Yves used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
Yves were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally.
Down the middle came
Y. Kraidis, making a fantastic play that nearly had Yves take the lead after 14 minutes, but
D. Bult preserved the tie.
M. Napiontek's speed was almost enough to give Yves a goal after 31 minutes, but his nice pass to
B. Al Amenah was not taken care of properly.
The visiting
F. Rivero Martín was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 35 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score.
After 37 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Q. Mayer to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2.
0 - 2 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Yves, with 52 percent of the ball.
Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Yves, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity.
M. Napiontek received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 51 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 3. The Yves fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
D. Festen of helmen was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Yves tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
F. Rivero Martín slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 4, 55 minutes into the game.
After 56 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
Y. Kraidis a chance to increase the lead for Yves, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 5.
The players of Yves now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the helmen manager used a brief break in play after 65 minutes to give the players new directives.
The helmen players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team.
helmen needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 70 minutes
R. Teeninga made way for
P. Vles.
helmen enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
Most important helmen player was
J. de Hoon.
J. Falschlehner was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Yves player was without a doubt
P. Franco.
F. Rivero Martín on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 5.
