Sandström had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 30 minutes having been played. J. Sárközi was the replacement. After a fine move down the middle A. El-Jibril nearly gave the home side a goal after 31 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Reitdiep enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

The Tikkies players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. 58 minutes into the match, Reitdiep nearly took the lead, as G. Covaci broke through on the right. M. Euwe made the save, however. Reitdiep's G.
