The crowd of 39317 turning up at BOLDIE DOME today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Inge Håkansson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gyõzõ Makay and 卢 (Lu) 嘉宇 (Jiayu). BOLDIE had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Di Pasquale - Vlăsceanu, Di Franco, Freudenthal - Pihler, Rayssac, Veintimilla-Lillo, Boerrigter - van Zomeren, Lucăcel, Goutis.

PATETA decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: Post - Eggink, Hebeda, Berthelot - van Raamsdonck, Eshuijs, van Uijtregt, van Veenendaal, Faugère - de Valk, Puumalainen.

BOLDIE used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. BOLDIE had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. They were singing the praises of J. Rayssac 21 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to BOLDIE. Thighs bulging, I. Veintimilla-Lillo charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. R. Boerrigter had a fantastic opportunity to put BOLDIE up another goal 29 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. S. van Raamsdonck did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch. An equalising goal seemed certain after 36 minutes when J. Puumalainen attacked down the left wing, but S. Di Pasquale just managed to make a save to keep the ball out of the net. After 38 minutes BOLDIE's J. Rayssac contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. PATETA were close to putting the equaliser away after 39 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to A. Faugère in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by BOLDIE, with 58 percent of the ball.

After 68 minutes, BOLDIE's D. Lucăcel found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 2 - 0. PATETA breathed new life into the game with an opportunity to reduce the score after 72 minutes, but the home side's defenders cleared the ball on the line, after a long shot coming in from the left rebounded off the crossbar. BOLDIE's I. Veintimilla-Lillo left the field after 73 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was T. Nyyrölä. BOLDIE's M. Pihler swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. M. Pihler unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. S. Di Pasquale made a brilliant save 87 minutes into the match, blocking a rocket of a shot from R. Eshuijs on the right hand side. Possession was split evenly between the teams.

C. van Zomeren performed admirably for BOLDIE. However, T. Nyyrölä made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating PATETA player was without a doubt C. van Uijtregt. S. Eggink was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 0.
