Dark skies made the crowd of 25500 at Asser Kuipje a little nervous, but the rain held off. Wolfgang Liesenkötter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Vladimír Šepták and John Quinn. martman decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. JUNIORS started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: de Reuver - Hallebeek, van der Duin, Barsevičius - Matuk, Bouwhuis, Rietveld, Ros, Brinkkemper - Hornke, Coenegracht.

martman clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. It was an obvious ambition of JUNIORS to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Attacking on the wings was the choice for JUNIORS, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. 22 minutes into the match, JUNIORS nearly took the lead, as H. Hornke broke through on the right. D. Pinkowski made the save, however. JUNIORS were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. The terraces were silenced after 23 minutes when JUNIORS's Y. Coenegracht put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. JUNIORS enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

S. Matuk received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 68 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The JUNIORS fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 74 minutes, JUNIORS's Y. Coenegracht burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. After this, you could see that the players of JUNIORS were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. After 76 minutes JUNIORS's K. van der Duin contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. JUNIORS had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.

D. Ambražukas performed admirably for martman. A. Chicote on the other hand, had a terrible day. JUNIORS's top performer was clearly Y. Coenegracht. L. Brinkkemper turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
