FCB 2 - 3 Plunderaars
(390315523)

22-07-2012 20.00
21500 spectators arrived at
Dynamite, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Konrad Scherzmann was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Wolff Bräuer and
Stefan Bergby.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for FCB.
The following players had been chosen: Yoo - Carlsen, Jarka, Săvulescu - Merklein, Bill, Quelle, Voipio, Have - Kraučelis, Hagen.
Plunderaars started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Vehosalmi - Norte, Gregory, Aspengren - Zwartjes, van Gent, Wieleba, Lustenegger, Louwsma - Zleovszki, Vasilev.
It was an obvious ambition of FCB to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
FCB had a good opportunity to take the lead as
S. Jarka came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of
A. Vehosalmi.
Plunderaars's
D. Gregory was shown a yellow card after 29 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
D. Lustenegger slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
K. Yoo, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
After 34 minutes, Plunderaars put themselves up 0 - 1, as
V. Vasilev finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
40 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as
D. Gregory finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
0 - 2 was the halftime score.
FCB enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
After 58 minutes
K. Have could have reduced the lead with a blistering strike from the left wing, had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors' keeper.
At 65 minutes into the game, FCB's
E. Voipio deftly knocked the ball home after an impressive run down the left, reducing the visitors' lead to 1 - 2.
FCB needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 73 minutes
T. Bill made way for
J. Maitre.
G. Săvulescu showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 73 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 2 - 2 equaliser away.
74 minutes in, FCB appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
weak.
After 78 minutes, Plunderaars's
T. Louwsma made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 2 - 3.
A. Chulapa was called on to replace Plunderaars's
D. Lustenegger after 80 minutes following a nasty collision.
FCB claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
FCB's top performer was clearly
C. Quelle.
J. Maitre turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Plunderaars player was without a doubt
G. Zleovszki.
B. Zwartjes on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 2 - 3.
