Dark skies made the crowd of 23631 at Sportpark Panhuis a little nervous, but the rain held off. Cornelus Crisan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Matteo Gadaleta and Stig Damkjær. D-Side started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. vliegensvlug had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Quarteerslüüd - Korvette, Niţescu, Altimis - Curti, Bonen, Váradi, Herrewijnen, Giménez Zapiola - Valencina, Congestrì.

D-Side's C. Besen was shown a yellow card after 6 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 15 minutes, the home side was awarded a penalty. The visitors protested wildly but the referee was adamant. C. Bontemps easily put the ball away to give the lead to D-Side. 1 - 0 C. Besen of D-Side seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 2 - 0 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by C. Bontemps. At this point, it was obvious that the players of D-Side lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their M. Korvette reduced the lead to make it 2 - 1 after 37 minutes, following a pass from the right. R. Hackel-Bleibtreu unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. D-Side had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

After 52 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by E. Flasza might have resulted in another goal for D-Side. However, M. Quarteerslüüd made a spectacular save. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.

D-Side's best player was R. Hackel-Bleibtreu. T. Corbeij was a disappointment, however. vliegensvlug's top performer was clearly D. Congestrì. A. Curti turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 1.
