17448 spectators had come to de vliert this cloudy day. Markus Mæland was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Filippo Lamma and Gaspard Poli. H3 decided to use a 4-3-3 set up. They fielded: Torelli - Cavanna, Ortiz, Bodor, Croes - Kroese, Echebelz, Horba - Lawson, Caravéo, Buitenhek.

Lizzys had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Starters: Abalos - Lahr, Csollány, Herrling-Schreiber, Habeshaw - Merchant, Sabbe, Pol, Simander - Schous, Harte.

The wings were the focus of most of H3's attacks today. Lizzys saw most attack opportunities on the wings. S. Pol's lack of experience almost gave H3 a goal after 19 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. After 28 minutes a very unfortunate collision in the penalty area led to Lizzys's P. Csollány being carried off the pitch and replaced by A. Iturri. It was obvious that Lizzys had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. After 33 minutes, Lizzys put themselves up 0 - 1, as F. Schous finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. A. Torelli got a fingertip on J. Herrling-Schreiber's shot from the left 35 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. Lizzys increased their lead after 36 minutes when W. Sabbe broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. Lizzys's J. Merchant had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 39 minutes having been played. T. Schnabel was the replacement. After 40 minutes, speedy F. Schous dashed past his marker, making plenty of room for the second wave of attack. However, R. Harte failed to score. Lizzys were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, J. Herrling-Schreiber would have put Lizzys up another goal 42 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. With 43 minutes gone, J. Buitenhek suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by H3 caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Lizzys, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

Clever play that showed his experience gave M. Simander a good chance to score, but the shot hit the crossbar. Lizzys came close to extending their lead as R. Harte delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 48 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. After the ball was lifted in from the left, F. Schous was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 57 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. H3 had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. H3 didn't give in and with 59 minutes played G. Ortiz was able to make the score 1 - 2 after an attack on the right. After 60 minutes of game time, F. Schous had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but A. Torelli was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. Lizzys had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.

The most dominating H3 player was without a doubt L. Caravéo. R. Bodor on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Lizzys player was M. Simander. T. Schnabel turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
