(390373125)

17-06-2012 21.00
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
AFC JIF Arena saw a crowd turnout of 19629.
Jørgen Kai Brandt was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Mauricio Andrés 'de mummie' Rodriguez and
Dolev Skandrani.
AFC tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Berti - Baelen, Borshukov, Rutjes - op der Heijde, von Rüden, Limbach, Esefeld, Pérez - Haans, Sutto.
DZS had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation.
Starters: Lasalde - Fredriksson, Meneghesso, Zanesi, Machata, Galata - Helas, Hubert, Gondim - Azambuja, Łapicz.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for DZS.
AFC had a good opportunity to take the lead as
M. Sutto came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of
I. Lasalde.
DZS were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 14 minutes,
G. Azambuja swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 0 - 1.
The crowd was on its feet 42 minutes into the match, as AFC's
M. Haans found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser.
It was 1 - 1 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by AFC, with 71 percent of the ball.
As the 46 minute mark approached, the DZS coach decided it was time for a substitution.
W. Helas reluctantly made way for
R. Forbes on the pitch.
After 46 minutes, the DZS coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
M. Łapicz off the field.
H. Sterncker took his place.
G. Azambuja was the new captain of DZS - handed the armband by the departing player.
Coming in from the right, DZS had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 49 minutes, but
R. Forbes's attempt to finish was easily stopped.
AFC took the lead after 58 minutes as a result of
M. Sutto's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 2 - 1.
A. Limbach really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by
P. von Rüden after a corner.
After 73 minutes DZS tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately,
H. Sterncker's shot sailed wide after his break down the right.
Possession in this half belonged to AFC, who controlled the ball 73 percent of the time.
AFC's best player was
M. Esefeld.
However,
D. Berti made a disastrous appearance.
C. Gondim performed admirably for DZS.
F. Zanesi was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 1.
