Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 6192 to Black Dome. Lutger Blisse was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mats Risbom and Alejandro Budinich. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Carte. The following players had been chosen: Prievalský - Leferink, Leite, Glavonjić - Kauppila, Lenske, Paulsson, Mayer-Berg - Eglmeier, Borg, Fajardo.

eppo8 started off with a 5-3-2 lineup. Lineup: Sarid - Ghirardello, Costa Mota, Schigt, Prießnitz, Paz - Heini, Nilsson, Loureiro - Ataker, Bartolomeo.

It was an obvious ambition of Carte to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. For their match strategy, eppo8 had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Carte made it 1 - 0 as H. Mayer-Berg got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to K. Borg who whipped a low drive in off the far post. Coming through the middle A. Paz almost scored the equaliser for eppo8 after 4 minutes, but R. Prievalský made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post. Carte put themselves up 2 - 0 when R. Fajardo broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. eppo8 reduced the lead after 36 minutes to 2 - 1 as P. Nilsson easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right. eppo8 levelled the score after 37 minutes to make it 2 - 2, as N. Schigt struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. The visiting M. Heini was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 38 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score. 2 - 3 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Carte, with 51 percent of the ball.

After 58 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for J. Loureiro who increased eppo8's lead to 2 - 4. By now, the players in eppo8 felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Carte's D. Glavonjić was shown a yellow card after 61 minutes for slicing down an opponent. eppo8's N. Bartolomeo made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 67 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. After 69 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by eppo8 was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. The goal to make it 2 - 5 was scored by P. Nilsson after 71 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by eppo8. The counterattack by eppo8 resulted in a free kick that M. Heini bent under the crossbar - 2 - 6! Carte enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

Most important Carte player was K. Borg. B. Eglmeier was a disappointment, however. eppo8's top performer was clearly P. Ghirardello. J. Loureiro turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 6.
