previous 1/10 next 3/10  Anime 6 - 0 Oostra (390436882)

10632 punters turned up at Naruto, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Steve Ogi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Mičeslavas Birenis and Mats Engin. Anime decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. The following players took the field: Kieperbusch - Machielsen, Palomeque, Zdařil - Volpe, Vannucci, Palstermans, van Sonsbeek - Malgaroli, Amitai, Thepault.

Oostra started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Starters: de Klerk - Roest, Wacker, Stuur, Zurel - Okken, Bitter, Zonneveld, Zumpolle - de Bode, Boekema.

Many thought E. Amitai ought to have been awarded a penalty 16 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around E. de Klerk after a determined run through the middle. There was concern in the stands when, at the 36 minute mark, Anime's S. Kieperbusch hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, E. Amitai scored for Anime putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 41 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Z. Zdařil from Anime a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 42 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Anime to 2 - 0 as F. Malgaroli finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. 43 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as V. Palomeque broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Anime. Confident in their lead, Anime's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Anime, with 81 percent of the ball.

After 47 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and S. Thepault gave the Anime supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 0. E. Volpe dispatched a majestic long shot 73 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres. Anime put themselves up 5 - 0 when V. Palomeque broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Anime scored another to make it 6 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for S. Thepault after 76 minutes. Anime had most of the ball, with 83 percent of possession.

Anime's top performer was clearly S. Thepault. J. Machielsen on the other hand, had a terrible day. A. Zurel performed admirably for Oostra. E. de Klerk was a disappointment, however. The match ends 6 - 0.
