Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 19266 at De Brakkenberg today. Néstor Amado was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Anders M. Ekenmo and Emil Birãu. Brakkie tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. The following players took the field: Vilkočinskas - Helms, Rashid, Annink - Madsen, Feliciani, Skudra, Wensveen - Zuccarello, Archetti, Dimov.

Alfa Col started off with a 5-2-3 lineup. They fielded: Waeleman - Jensen, Kievit, Kemperman, Grabowski, Klijs - Stijger, Adema - Grondman, Overgaag, Hammer.

Brakkie saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Alfa Col decided to play creatively. G. Zuccarello was very close to giving Brakkie the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 9 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar. Alfa Col's S. Grondman has the wonderful ability to create chances out of thin air. 10 minutes into the match he bamboozled a couple of opposition defenders before sending the keeper the wrong way and sidefooting the ball home into an empty net. That totally unexpected burst of flair made it 0 - 1. The visitors' Y. Adema took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 17 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Alfa Col. M. Vilkočinskas got a fingertip on S. Grondman's shot from the left 35 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. The referee showed Brakkie's G. Zuccarello the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Brakkie, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, E. Grabowski got himself booked. The manager of Alfa Col was not happy. 40 minutes into the game, Alfa Col worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. A drive down the left side allowed D. Stijger to get in close and score another goal for Alfa Col after 41 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 3. The players of Alfa Col now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. It was 0 - 3 at the break. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.

Some fine movement on the left led to a Alfa Col goal after 58 minutes, making it 0 - 4. Y. Adema was noted down as the scorer. Y. Adema increased Alfa Col's lead to 0 - 5 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner. At that, Y. Adema was noted down for a hat trick! M. Kievit was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Alfa Col's M. Hammer managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 0 - 6 G. Zuccarello messed up a penalty shot after 74 minutes, the ball going miles wide. J. Annink of Brakkie was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. The home crowd was not impressed when M. Kievit came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 80 minutes. Alfa Col were now up 0 - 7. Brakkie's A. Madsen found himself alone on the left side 82 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper! After 83 minutes, the defensive line of Alfa Col created a counterattack through the middle that gave D. Stijger a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. L. Jensen of Alfa Col received a yellow card after 84 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 85 minutes, Alfa Col did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, E. Grabowski was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 8. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Brakkie, with 53 percent of the ball.

G. Zuccarello performed admirably for Brakkie. M. Vilkočinskas was a disappointment, however. Alfa Col's best player was S. Grondman. However, A. Waeleman made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 8.
