Future 3 - 1 Gestrekte (390475508)

Dark skies made the crowd of 7569 at Future Pipes Playground a little nervous, but the rain held off. Lauri Jalonen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hannes Kirkovits and Benjamín Juárez Sierra. Future had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Scheringa - Querreveld, Lieffijn, Cramer, Aikema - Romijn, Zeelenberg, Drenthen, Everts - Badžić, Sarphati.

Gestrekte started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: van Nie - van Brussel, Duisterwinkel, Oflaz, Hoppe - Schimscheimer, Delius, van Kessel, Coulen - Troost, Heldring.

Future's I. Sarphati's long shot really ought to have found the net 32 minutes into the match, but it fell just wide of the target. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, J. Hoppe got himself booked. The manager of Gestrekte was not happy. After 37 minutes, the home side was awarded a penalty. The visitors protested wildly but the referee was adamant. R. Querreveld easily put the ball away to give the lead to Future. 1 - 0 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Future enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

Speedy I. Sarphati tried one of his patented rushes 56 minutes into the game, but Ş. Oflaz was just as fast and averted the attack. The head of M. Badžić connected with a corner kick after 68 minutes, and the ball ended up with B. Cramer of Future who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 2 - 0. I. Lieffijn could have put Future up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 81 minutes. With 82 minutes played, Future's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to M. Badžić he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 3 - 0. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave I. Coulen from Gestrekte a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 85 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! An awe-inspiring free kick by W. van Brussel of Gestrekte resulted in a goal 86 minutes into the game! 3 - 1 was the new score. N. Zeelenberg dispatched a majestic long shot 87 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres. Future claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

Future's top performer was clearly B. Everts. R. Querreveld was a disappointment, however. Gestrekte's best player was H. Schimscheimer. Ş. Oflaz on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 1.
