10095 spectators arrived at United Forward Stadium, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Burkhard Kaster was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ulf Wendler and Peter Irskär. A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Forward. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to F. Fallreep, but the Forward player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Forward solidified their lead at the 7 minute mark, as G. Nieuwenhuis dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. The crowd gasped as I. Coulen of Gestrekte was flattened by an opponent after 17 minutes and had to be carried off. O. Öztokay came in off the bench. With 20 minutes played, H. Mevan could have brought this one home for Forward as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Good work by the Gestrekte defensive line after 21 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found H. Schimscheimer alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. 22 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as E. Krassenburg broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Forward. After 29 minutes, F. Fallreep put Forward ahead 4 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. H. Mevan received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 34 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. It was 4 - 0 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Forward, with 79 percent of the ball.

After 60 minutes, Forward sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached J. Strohalm, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 5 - 0. By now, the players in Forward felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. The Forward free kick 64 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of J. Strohalm, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 6 - 0! Cheers filled the stadium as G. Nieuwenhuis broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 7 - 0 to Forward. F. Heldring of Gestrekte was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. H. Mevan could have put Forward up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 84 minutes. Forward had most of the ball, with 82 percent of possession.

Forward's top performer was clearly G. Nieuwenhuis. A. Goedegebuure on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Gestrekte player was without a doubt O. Öztokay. Ş. Oflaz turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 7 - 0.
