Noordrand 5 - 0 Racketack (390475546)

Clouds darkened the skies at DE TOMBE as 7924 spectators turned up for the match. Dennis Ernle was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marc Schafflützel and Jacobus Jonat-Schmid. All of Amsterdam was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. Noordrand decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. They fielded: van Dedem - Mondriaan, Ginelli, Ginjaar, Szkudłapski - Ben-sahar, Nolan, Zaalberg, Maternia - López Pacheco, Berende.

Racketack had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Bolt - Vrugt, van Wanrooij, Verhaag, Muntinga - Machielsen, van Bleisem, Eichelaar, Cordang - Gravenmaker, Endevoets.

It was obvious that Noordrand were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. Noordrand took the lead after 5 minutes as a result of S. Nolan's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. D. López Pacheco squirmed through their central defence after 10 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Noordrand to 3 - 0 as H. Ben-sahar finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Noordrand lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. A. Berende had a fantastic opportunity to put Noordrand up another goal 28 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. A. Ginjaar of Noordrand was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Noordrand managed to extend their lead to 4 - 0 when T. Maternia cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave D. López Pacheco from Noordrand a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 38 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! 4 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Noordrand, who controlled the ball 72 percent of the time.

Noordrand's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. Racketack's F. Verhaag got himself booked for a foul. 80 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as A. Zaalberg broke through, making the score 5 - 0 for Noordrand. 81 minutes in, Racketack's R. Cordang received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Noordrand's S. Mondriaan had an excellent opportunity after 86 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! Noordrand claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 75 percent.

Noordrand's best player was A. Zaalberg. On the other hand, A. Ginjaar's play was disheartening. Racketack's top performer was clearly R. Eichelaar. I. Bolt turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 0.
