The visitors replied 26 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 2 - 1, as D. Blummel dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. Compi's M. Kaagman saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 36 minutes. Coming from the right, H. Horsting almost managed to score another goal for Compi, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. 2 - 1 was the halftime score. Compi had most of the ball, with 72 percent of possession.

Compi's W. Busstra had an excellent opportunity after 47 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! With 50 minutes played, Compi put themselves up 3 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to L. Breemen, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. At that, L. Breemen was noted down for a hat trick! J.
