The guests took the lead 8 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in K. van Eeghen scoring to make it 0 - 1. eierdoppen's W. Jeeninga put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 1 - 1 with 9 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. 13 minutes into the game, N. Nijssen had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. 22 minutes into the match, a typically brave header by G. Stolker from N. Nijssen's cross looped just over the opposing goalkeeper's desperate reach. Goal for Balon, making the score 1 - 2. 23 minutes into the game a free kick by R. van der Leur found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making Balon's lead 1 - 3. 1 - 3 was the halftime score. Balon claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

A drive down the left side allowed M. Weggemans to get in close and score another goal for Balon after 63 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 4. Confident in their lead, Balon's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. M. Weggemans of Balon displayed some of his fantastic technical abilities when he brought the ball down neatly using his instep before nutmegging the bewildered R. van Ee and smashing an unstoppable shot past the goalkeeper to make it 1 - 5. After the ball was lifted in from the left, K. van Eeghen was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 72 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. The eierdoppen free kick 73 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of F. Alçiçek, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 2 - 5! The referee showed eierdoppen's J. Oster the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Balon's K. van Eeghen went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention. M. Weggemans increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 2 - 6. At that, M. Weggemans was noted down for a hat trick! M. Weggemans was, after 85 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper G. Plegt made the save. R. Bot of Balon took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 87 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 2 - 7. Balon enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

The most dominating eierdoppen player was without a doubt W. Jeeninga. On the other hand, G. Plegt's play was disheartening. Balon's best player was M. Weggemans. R. Kopland on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 7.
