A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 60024 to
Patio de Chacareras - Don Osvaldo Bayer.
Fabian Köhnke was the appointed referee.
Libertario decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Torres - Lampaert, Fonticelli, Herrón - Morigi, Green, Cardozo, Díaz, Guillaume - Sztokinger, Hidalgo.
Saavedra tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Lineup: Márialigeti - Andreasson, Bologna, Holek - Mutschlechner, Céspedes, Kalsbeek, Krēsliņš, Kobielski - Bembnista, Minkiewicz.
The strategy for Saavedra was to use their ability to press.
A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by
C. Cardozo. At last, Libertario's
M. Fonticelli was able to backheel the ball in. 1 - 0.
The referee showed Saavedra's
J. Krēsliņš the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
The player down was
E. Green. The Libertario bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up.
Y. Guillaume of Libertario was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
C. Cardozo found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
After 43 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
M. Fonticelli might have resulted in another goal for Libertario. However,
J. Márialigeti made a spectacular save.
H. Monges was called on to replace Libertario's
T. Torres after 44 minutes following a nasty collision.
Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Saavedra's
J. Krēsliņš put the ball in the onion bag after 44 minutes to make it 1 - 1.
It was 1 - 1 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Libertario, with 58 percent of the ball.
Libertario's
E. Green got himself booked for a foul.
E. Morigi didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play.
After a fine move down the middle
E. Green nearly gave the home side a goal after 78 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
They were singing the praises of
T. Sztokinger 80 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Libertario.
Libertario enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.
Libertario's top performer was clearly
C. Cardozo.
However,
H. Monges made a disastrous appearance.
Saavedra's best player was
P. Bembnista.
W. Kobielski on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 2 - 1.
